So, which is it? Go out, or stay home?

Can’t believe we are half way through July, it’s been a busy few weeks and feeling very grateful for all your support.

So, which is it? Go out, or stay home?

With mixed messages that are almost impossible to decipher. For months, people have been left to figure it out for themselves. I’d love to be sitting in a busy dining room, feeling completely safe and at ease, surrounded by friends with drinks in their hands. But I haven’t been out for a meal since March, and adapting is going to take a little time.

It’s hard enough to keep a restaurant going at the best of times (trust me I know) with plenty of friends in the industry I am amazed at how people are dealing with the current situation – so much respect.

But for now, I’m devoted to cooking, private dinner parties, at home, here in the barn or takeout. I have an updated menu of July delights and also the option to create a unique custom menu for your occasion.

Takeout and deliveries

It’s still possible to have a romantic dinner, small family gathering, lunch with friends, birthday treat or just a good meal without having to raid your cupboards for something to cook. My kitchen is open and ready to take your order.

Please find attached my takeout menu and happy to take any of your favorites on request.

Dining at home

You choose the setting, the ambiance, the music, and not having to cook, lay the table or even wash the dishes while we cater your every need.

All food will be served (feast style) so while we lay the table you can start with canapes and champagne. After mains we recommend a short interval while table is remade and a dessert table is created for you to enjoy.

If you want to know more about how we will be following social distancing guidelines, please let me know.

The Barn at Crossgate

You can also join me at home, for a unique (social distancing) dining experience. The barn at Crossgate offers an idyllic location for your gathering. I can currently host up to twelve for lunch, dinner, or traditional Sunday lunch from £35 pp to include fizz on arrival.

Plus, you can bring your own booze.

We will be taking all measures to ensure your safety and following all government guidelines as they are updated. It will just be myself cooking and one waiter on hand, all food will be served, feast style so you will be able to relax and dine (with peace of mind) in a beautiful environment.

The month of leaves and roses

‘It is the month of June, The month of leaves and roses when pleasant sights salute the eyes, And pleasant scents the noses.’ I love this quote by Nathanial Parker Willis the only amendment I would ma

March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb

It’s March!!!! February passed by in a flash (much to my surprise) and I have to admit, even though lockdown can be tough, there is a sure sign Spring is on its way which makes it just that little bit

At last, January is over. Thank goodness!

So, I’m glad it’s over. If January was a trial month, I’d not be subscribing to the rest of the damn year! But I don’t think that’s how it goes though, right? I have high hopes for February being a be
